The Scottish Borders Child Protection Committee has published its calendar of training courses for the first six months of the year.
The courses are part of the Committee’s responsibility towards the safety and protection of children and young people in the Borders. This includes the provision of child protection training and support to professionals, groups and members of the public who have contact with children and young people.
There is a range of courses on offer. Essential Issues in Child Protection Practice is suitable for anyone who works with or comes into contact with children or parents as part of their work, voluntary or leisure activities.
Child Sexual Exploitation is open to all practitioners, volunteers and managers and it is strongly recommended that they undertake this training.
Public Protection Briefings are available for all groups or organisations in the private, public and third sectors to raise awareness of public protection and the resources that are available to them.
Bespoke training courses can also be delivered to meet the specific needs of individuals and groups.
All courses are free and are delivered by experienced professionals working within the child protection field. \
