A new choir for people with learning disabilities in the Scottish Borders will be launched in Galashiels next month.
The ‘Keys to Life Choir’ is named after Scotland’s main vision for supporting people with learning disabilities to have great lives. Family carers and support workers are also welcome to go along.
Leading the choir are Sandy Devers, Chief Executive Officer of Streets Ahead, and Claire Taylor, Team Manager with The Richmond Fellowship Scotland, both of whom are musicians and singers.
Sandy said: “Music is a great way to bring people together. The choir offers a new chance for people with learning disabilities, family carers and support staff to come together, learn songs, have fun and perform for others.”
The first session is on Wednesday 19th September at the MacArts Centre in Bridge Street, Galashiels, from 1.30pm-3pm. It will then meet every second Wednesday.
